Abstract . Background . Tenofovir-containing antiretroviral therapy (ART) improves survival in HBV-coinfected people with HIV (PWH). We investigated the incidence of HDV infection and its clinical impact in HBV-coinfected PWH in the era of tenofovir-containing ART.Methods . Between 2011 and 2022, HBV-coinfected PWH were included and followed until December 2023. Anti-HDV antibody screening was performed using sequentially archived blood samples.

. Introduction. Hepatitis B virus (HBV) affects 296 million people globally, causing 780 000 annual deaths. It has been estimated that 12–43 million individuals are co-infected with hepatitis D virus (HDV). In Spain, the prevalence of HBsAg in adults is 0.22%, with an anti-HDV prevalence of 7.7%, although not extensively documented since many HBsAg-positive cases are not tested for anti-HDV.

Chronic infection by the Hepatitis Delta virus (HDV) causes aggressive and difficult-to-treat Hepatitis in Hepatitis B antigen (HBsAg)-positive patients [1]. The epidemiological profiles of chronic Hepatitis D (CHD) have changed in the last decades [2–4] mainly due to Hepatitis B virus (HBV) vaccination campaigns in most countries and increasing immigration from areas where HDV is endemic [5–14].

highest incidence rate (34 per 1,000 PYs; 95% confidence interval [CI] 29–40) for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), hepatitis B was highest for viral hepatitis diagnoses (18 per 1,000 PYs; 95% CI 17–20); according to CDC-classification herpes zoster for HIV-associated diagnoses (22 per 1,000; 95% CI 20–24) and candidiasis for AIDS-defining diagnoses (30 per 1,000 PYs; 95% CI 29–32). Most PLWH with HIV-ICs (hepatitis, HIV-associated diagnoses and AIDS-defining conditions) had CD4 cell counts

= 3]. DMEs associated with Baloxavir Marboxil included rhabdomyolysis [ROR (95% CI), 15.50 (10.53 ∼ 22.80), n = 26]. . . . Conclusion. Monitoring fulminant hepatitis during Oseltamivir treatment, especially in patients with liver-related diseases, is crucial. Oseltamivir’s potential to induce abnormal behavior, especially in adolescents, necessitates special attention.

. Background. Since 2009, European guidelines recommend individuals with hepatitis B virus (HBV) and HIV be tested for hepatitis D virus (HDV). . . Aim. To analyse HDV testing in individuals with HBV/HIV during routine practice in the Netherlands. . . Methods. We assessed data from the ATHENA cohort of people with HIV who were ever HBV surface antigen-positive, aged ≥ 18 years and attended one of 24 HIV treatment centres in the Netherlands during 2000–22.
