Abstract . Background . Chronic hepatitis D virus (HDV) infection increases the risk of liver-related deaths in adults with chronic hepatitis B (CHB). In the US, only an estimated 12.9% of adults with CHB have received an HDV antibody test. The aim of this study is to calculate the cost-effectiveness of one-time universal HDV testing of hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg)-positive adults living in the US.Methods .

. Objectives. Public awareness and the dissemination of tailored information to lay populations are essential for highly endemic countries like Senegal to achieve hepatitis B elimination targets by 2030. In Senegal, despite its high prevalence, hepatitis B has not received sufficient attention in health communication campaigns compared with other health issues like HIV.

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is a major global health burden, causing more deaths than HIV/AIDS worldwide [1]. HBV early detection and care would reduce long-term disease complications such as cirrhosis and cancer [2]. In Europe, only 16% of the 10 million people living with HBV are diagnosed, far behind World Health Organisation target [1]. Undiagnosed HBV is more frequent in men than women, one reason being that prenatal testing strategy is limited to pregnant women [3].

. Background and aim. The natural history of chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is usually divided into four phases: immune tolerant (IT), immune active (IA), immune carrier (IC), and immune reactive (IR). Many patients still cannot be classified into the four phases, called “Grey Zone (GZ)”. This study aimed to analyze the liver histological features of the GZ patients to guide antiviral therapy. . Hepatitis E virus (HEV) is a global health concern that causes acute hepatitis with severe consequences, particularly in patients with chronic liver disease. Despite the availability of a recombinant hepatitis E vaccine (Hecolin), its safety and immunogenicity in patients with pre-existing liver cirrhosis remain uncertain. This study aimed to assess the safety and immunogenicity of Hecolin in individuals with compensated liver cirrhosis who have chronic hepatitis B (CHB).
